All children in Early Years participate in a weekly PE lesson. Children will need their PE kits in school every day. When we come back to school, more information about when our PE lessons are and what we are learning will be available here.
We expected all children to read their school book at home every day. Reading books are changed once a week and children choose a library book to share at home. Children who read regularly at home are rewarded with special prizes. Lots of practise will ensure your children make progress with reading and as a result, across the rest of the curriculum as well.
Highlights of the year (so far!)
In our first term of the school year, Reception had lots of visitors who came to tell us all about their very important jobs. We had a visit from a vet, a dentist, some police officers, some paramedics and some firefighters. The best bit was writing a postcard that we put in the post box. It was so exciting when they were delivered to our houses!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar really got Nursery chatting! It was brilliant to see them retelling the story so clearly.
Nursery and Reception both joined in a fantastic Nativity play at Christmas time. It was amazing how well we all learnt the songs, dances and even had a go at saying some lines! Our teachers and families were very proud of us!
Nursery had an amazing time exploring colours and experimented with different ways to make colours. They found out so many interesting things!
