How are we doing with attendance in 2022 - 2023?

Autumn 1:

In the first half-term, the average attendance for children of statutory school age at St. George's was 94.4%. Nationally, the average was 94.9%. This means that we were only 0.5% below the national figure, which is a great start.

Mrs Harley's class -Jellyfish - did particularly well, their average attendance was 96.9%. Turtle class, with Mrs Del Vecchio also did very well, as their attendance for the first half-term was 95.1%. Both classes had attendance that was above the national average - a BIG well done goes to all the children in Jellyfish and Turtle classes!

Autumn 2:

Up to 5th December 2022, the national average attendance for children of statutory school age was 94%.   At St. George's the average attendance was 93.5%.  Again, this is 0.5% below the national average which is an improvement on last year.

Turtle class continue to be doing very well, their average attendance so far this year has been 95.3%!  Whale class are also above the national average with 94.6% and Jellyfish class too, who have 94.2% attendance.  Well done everyone - keep up the good work!

Spring 1:

In the first half of the school year, the average attendance for children of statutory school age at St. George's was 92.9%. National data up to 27th January 2023, shows that average attendance across the country was 93.8%. We very much hope that next half-term we can all work together to get attendance back on track and closer to the national average.

Whale class, with Mr Abbott are doing particularly well - their attendance so far this year is 94.7%! A BIG well done goes to all the children in Angelfish class (Mrs Webb), Lobster class (Mrs Evans) and Starfish class (Miss Payne) who have all made significant improvements in their attendance in Spring 1. Keep up the good work everyone!

Spring 2:

In the first two thirds of the school year, the average attendance for children of statutory school age at St. George's was 92.3%. National data up to 10th March 2023, shows that average attendance across the country was 93.9%. Our attendance is now 1.6% below the national figure, so we must work really hard to improve this - come on St. George's - we can do this!

Turtle class, with Mrs Del Vecchio are doing particularly well - their attendance so far this year is 94.6%! Whale class are continuing to do well too - their attendance so far this year is 94.2%.  A HUGE well done goes to all the children in Angelfish class (Mrs Webb) - their attendance in Spring 2 has been 93.9% which is excellent news. 

Summer 1:

The average attendance for children of statutory school age at St. George's so far this year has been 92.3%.  Figures up to 8th May 2023, show that nationally the average is 93.9%. We really need to put in a MASSIVE effort next half-term to make the most of everything this year has to offer.

The mixed Year 3 and 4 class/Turtle class have the highest attendance so far this year with have 94.1% attendance - this is higher than the national average Turtle class - WELL DONE!

We are also pleased to say that we have seen a growing number of children in school every single day in the last few weeks. In the week beginning 8th May, there were 164 children with 100% attendance, which is brilliant. Our next target is for 176 children to be in school every day for a week!
